A little birdy told me Easter is on its way.

A little birdy told me Easter is on its way.

Yesterday I was digging. Digging through a pile of dust under the stairs, desperately searching for my Easter decor.   I found shredded paper, basket nests, tissue paper, Christmas trees but no bunnies. I just know they are under there somewhere or perhaps they ran off to join the circus.  You know because the circus of the Pigeon Pair house was not enough for them? Anyways, underneath the junk I found some left over party favours from Little Miss A’s 1st Birthday.

Are you thinking what I am thinking?

These little “nest in a jars” were the party favours for her “Sweet Tweet ‘Bird’day” but a little change of the design and they could be easter gifts, decorations, easter party favours! It would be easy as 1,2,3.

STEP 1. Grab some baby food jars.  If you no longer have babies, buy fruit puree or even better custard!  Kids love them just don’t tell them there for babies!  Clean them out, and spray paint the lid whatever colour you choose.

STEP 2. Find and print some cupckae toppers. I am loving these little pastel bunnies from Lovely Living.  Use a scalloped paper punch to punch them out.  Attach them to the lid, the front of the jar or both!

STEP 3. Fill with some shredded paper and speckled Candy eggs.  I found these at Big W under $4 for a bag!!!  They are back again this year!

Now you have a cute, yummy and cheap little gift for the teachers or grandparents, decor for your home or party favours.  Don’t forget to let your own little birdies lend a helping hand, if you don’t mind missing an egg or two!
