It has started my weekend after some stressful weeks with getting out into nature, alone and moving. Clears my head and gets me motivated for the day ahead

We finally renovated our Staircase! When we built we accidentally had a carpet grade staircase installed. But we didn’t want carpet! After a few failed attempts to paint them, and not wanting to spend thousands on replacing them, I found inspiration on Pinterest! The hunt began for a carpet runner that would match our grey carpet upstairs and dark wood planks downstairs. Lots of painting later, the runner was installed and we couldn’t be happier!

Love these clear storage containers as they are practical, sturdy and affordable. Bring able to see in your storage containers isn’t always a good thing but it is perfect for what I want them for! Reveal to come!

Progress and practicality not perfection!

Whilst a certain collector of running outfits is at school camp 😉 I am decluttering her gear!

The most worn running crops and singlets (all from @impisportswear) have been rolled and stored in an old shoebox . This shoebox is then going in her wardrobe drawer. Her running pants have also been rolled and I stole an unused old ikea drawer divider from her brothers room, to pop them in! Running shorts are folded in her drawer and I need to find a container for them.

Track pants, jackets and hoodies all get hung on hangers.

Now she just has to keep it like this once she is home!!!

This could work! @fromgreatbeginnings has used drawers with a bench on top to make the most of the vertical space that is front of the pipes! So very clever 💕

We won’t fit anything this big as we have the bin on the right, but it’s a start! That’s the best thing about organising inspiration, you can take the inspiration of so many clever people and alter it to suit the needs of your family and home. 💕

This one is so hard for us as we have deep double farmhouse sinks and the bin in this space! It leaves a really unusable and awkward space!

What we have under there at the moment is ok, but it could be so much better!

Organising My Wardrobe. As much as I have wanted

Organising My Wardrobe.

As much as I have wanted to develop a capsule wardrobe over the last few years, I am an absolute sucker for a new outfit.

However, something I have started doing is creating outfit “pictures” of what I do have (using the app Layout) and then saving them in my phone.

This helps:

1. Remind me that I do have things to wear when I think I don’t!
2. Streamline future purchases incase I have something similar in my wardrobe already.
3. Buy things that I could mix and match with what I’ve got or match with accessories already in my wardrobe.

So far it’s working beautifully to help minimise my impulse purchases!

Is there anything as satisfying as ticking off your to do list?

I found these clever little plastic boards on @shein_au
I couldn’t resist getting one each for the kids (the pink and blue) and then a white “to do list” for me!

The chore charts came with the preprinted jobs as pictured and also some plain paper strips to personalise your list! I am going to laminate the plain strips so I can write on it with a whiteboard marker and reuse it again and again!

You could also use the “chore list” as a morning or afternoon routine with the kids ticking of that they have done each item.

Or use it to list what they need in their school bag each day to build independence and organisation skills!

Each board cost between $3.95 and $4.95 and was available in multiple stores within the SHEIN site.

Homework Station!

This one is an oldie and no longer in use in our house as with two high schoolers and no “homework” for our year 4 boy it just didn’t get used!

But when I had two small children in Prep and Grade 3 it was a lifesaver!
I stored everything you could possibly need for homework in this trolley and would wheel it over to the dining table, outdoor table or kitchen bench depending on where we were doing homework!

I organised this mess of a drawer, just in time for school to go back.

I have been eyeing off these bag organisers for years but never saw one I was happy with! Glad I waited after reading that people weren’t happy with having cling wrap stored like this. They found it difficult to wrap food with it contained in a large storage container in a drawer as it’s much easier to use it close to the item you are going to wrap!

With that advice I found this one on Amazon that stores:

4 different kind of bags (we use snack, sandwich and larger zip lock bags as well as garbage bags) as well as baking paper and aluminium foil.

It came with pre printed labels but I need some personalised ones so made them on my silouhette cameo.

Work Lunch Meal Prep: This Sunday I am meal prepping one of my favourite work day lunches.

I don’t even really know what it’s called but I dice chicken thighs, eggplant and chorizo, add sundries tomatoes, sprinkle with paprika and bake all in the same dish. Then I throw it on top of some spinach and crumble feta on top. I make enough for 4 lunches and then have some for dinner on a Sunday.

My key to work lunch success is to take them all to work on Monday! That way I don’t forget my lunch during the week.

I have also learnt that it’s much easier if it’s all cut up to eat on the go or at my desk! Some days there isn’t a lot of time to sit down and eat with a knife and fork.
